Prince and the good days

Prince Andrew is one of our Grade One pupils and eager to learn.
He's also lived with sickle cell disease every day of his life. On the hard days, it keeps him from school and sends him to hospital in Kisumu for treatment most families here could never dream of affording. His parents are out of formal work, and there have been times the whole family has gone without simply to try and keep his medicine on the shelf.
And yet he keeps coming back, picking up exactly where he left off. His marks rise and dip with his health, but his determination never does.
Because of you, Prince is able to get the medicine he needs, the doctors he needs, and the cost of his care taken off his family's shoulders.
That's why GLOW will never treat a child's health and a child's education as separate things — a hungry or unwell child cannot learn, and we refuse to ask them to.
Children like Prince don't need our pity. They need a fair chance. With your help, that's exactly what we give them.
Health, nutrition and education.
